The Golden Globe awards are a time for special recognition for the stars of some of our most beloved television shows. Many of us tune in each year and root for our favorites to wins and spend those couple hours at the edge of our seats. It is also a time that we can check out the fashion apparel of our celebrity. Of course, they will be decked out in some of the most amazing styles and will generally be wearing some very beautiful and elaborate pieces of gold,
Now I have been an early history of watching television and grew up watching some of very classic shows that have at one time or another have been nominated for a golden globe awards. During the ceremony you would be hard pressed not to find any actress or movie star who is not decked out in some type of gold pack piece of earrings or necklaces, and all for the proud night. But to many of us who grew up in later times we really have no idea what, when or how these awards came about. Here is some interesting history on this illustrious night where the men are decked out in gold watches for all to see. The Golden Globes are first and foremost presented by the annual Hollywood Foreign Press and it is obvious that they give highlight and praise to movers and shakers in the entertainment industry. So the first Golden Globe Awards ceremony was held on January 1944 at the 20th Century Fox Studios in where else…. but Los Angeles?!
Over the years the awards ceremony that is shown on television has become an unwritten Fashion Show on the red carpet in which you can even see some Movie Stars even decked in long gowns embedded in scrap gold. And this ceremony is not just shown here in the Americas it is also broadcasted in over 160 counties world wide thus proving that people are simply infatuated with the gold coin like personalities on the silver screen. But besides this it is the opinion of the writer that many people watch again and again is due to the fact that everyone has their favorite actress or actor that we want to see win, almost as if we are rooting for our favorite sports team that we be bet on. And it is most fitting that the ceremonies are held in Hollywood, the land of gold for cash in the valley and the next big movie star; the Golden Globe Awards have become synomous with everything that’s Hollywood. The Golden Globe Awards of 2009 were held on January 11th and were all the rave with the many styles and jewelry on display. If your favorite star didn’t win or was not nominated this year, don’t fret, there will always be next year. And yes it is possible, there have been many stars who maybe have not won the year before who may have won the year after. Whatever the case with the movie stars your root for, the gold that you will be seeing that day will have you asking yourself “How much is my gold worth anyway?”
