Winning isn’t everything. We at Cash for Gold USA believe that this is sort of true – of course, it’s not worth stomping all over the better part of humanity to get your way to the top, but the issue is that being on top is one of the best feelings that a human can have. Period. This is why trophies are so popular – people don’t just like to win, they like to have the feel of a win in their hand. Around the world, trophies have come to symbolize the actualization of an epic win, something that has been accomplished and should be rewarded with a giant chunk of metal.
We at Cash for Gold USA like this mentality. In the spirit of such, we’ve decided to discuss some of the world’s most cherished trophies, the most iconic.
The first one on the list is undoubtedly the Olympic Gold Metal. Winning Olympic gold is often considered one of the most worthy events that can happen in an athlete’s life. After all, not only is the Olympics a sport that takes all (or tries to) of the profit out of the sport and let the players purely play based on skill, it’s also a chance to represent your country before the world. Holding Olympic gold is an incredible event that can bring tears to even the most hardened athlete’s eyes – and this is why it’s one of the most iconic gold “trophies” (it’s a metal, but close enough) that the world has.
Other iconic trophies? How about the FIFA World Cup, a handheld sized gem that gets shown with pride (and often a lot of tears) whenever a country’s team makes the grueling climb to the top of soccer stardom. Want more? Think about hockey’s Lord Stanley, held in victory above the head of the team who wins the NHL hockey finals. The Heisman Trophy is also revered in college football.
All trophies mean something – but the iconic ones are definitely the most memorable.
